Our Mission:
Creating a Brighter Future for GAND
Raising awareness, supporting families and advancing research to bring hope for a future with effective treatments for GAND.
Every person affected by GAND deserves the opportunity to reach their potential, access the support they need and benefit from advances in medical research. For individuals and families living with this rare genetic condition, the journey can bring many challenges, questions and uncertainties.
Our mission is to help change the future for those affected by GAND. Through raising awareness, supporting individuals and families, and funding research, we want to help build a better understanding of the condition and move closer to finding effective treatments.
Why Our Mission Matters
Living with a rare condition can be an uncertain journey. Families may face questions about diagnosis, care, therapies and what the future holds, while researchers continue working to understand the condition and explore potential treatment options.
GAND is a rare genetic neurodevelopmental condition, and there is still much to learn about how it affects individuals and their families. Although there is currently no cure for GAND itself, we believe that greater awareness, continued research and better access to support can help make a meaningful difference.
We want to help ensure that GAND receives the attention it deserves, that families feel supported rather than alone, and that research into potential treatments continues to move forward.
What We Aim to Achieve
Raise Awareness of GAND
Greater awareness is an important step towards progress. By sharing information and helping more people understand GAND, we hope to increase recognition of the condition and encourage more people to get involved in supporting the community.
We want to help make GAND better understood by families, healthcare professionals, researchers and the wider public. Every conversation, shared story and opportunity to raise awareness can help bring us closer to a future where fewer people feel they have to navigate this journey alone.
Support Individuals and Families
Behind every diagnosis is a person, a family and a unique story. We recognise that living with GAND can bring practical, emotional and personal challenges, and that finding reliable information and appropriate support can be an important part of the journey.
We aim to help individuals and families explore available therapy and support options, find useful information and feel more connected to a wider community that understands their experiences.
We also want families to know that their voices matter. Their experiences, questions and hopes are an important part of shaping a future in which people affected by GAND receive greater understanding and support..
Fund and Encourage Medical Research
Research is central to our mission. A better understanding of GAND can help researchers investigate the condition, explore possible treatment approaches and work towards improving outcomes for those affected.
By helping to fund research and encouraging collaboration on medical research projects, we want to contribute to the ongoing search for effective treatments for GAND.
Scientific progress takes time, dedication and collaboration. While we cannot promise when new treatments may become available, we are committed to supporting the work that could help make them possible.
